Which is better before or after?
Personally I find this shocking news. When I started watching Secret Garden I didn't know what to think. The only question circling in my mind was WHY? No matter what fans say I personally think this was a huge mistake. Does Hyun Bin look manlier now? I don't think so. He looks just weird, reminds me of an alien or something.
He looks to thin. I don't know if he lost a lot of weight recently or something. But just look at his cheeks. It looks so very unnatural. I wouldn't say he looks ugly but he is not that good looking anymore. Or maybe it's just the hairstyle he sports in the drama? I think he looked cute but now it's just weird.
I'm so disappointed

I believe it's official. People are talking about it and you can see the results on the screen. It's a pity, though. Yes, he was such a cutie pie *sigh*
I don't think he had plastic surgery, I just think he lost weight for the role. He had to look less masculine for the whole soul switch thing when he was Ra Im. Plus he will be going into the military soon, could have lost weight for that as well. I think for the role he was going for the whole asexual thing. Still cute, just waaaay too skinny.
I hope he did not but he certainly looks weird in his new tv drama. He was much better looking before. Now he looks a bit like a robot. So sad if he did really shaved off part of his jaw because then it's irreversible.

wow, i didn't even know he was the same guy from Kim Sam Soon. He looked so much hotter before. He's still cute, but really looks too skinny... but he's still a great actor.

Seriously there is no surgery done, he lost weight on purpose for his role as Kim Ju Won/Ralm..personally I wish to see him put on some weight after his MS.. Hyun Bin oppa waiting for you ..fighting!!!
Hyunbin did not got into any plastic surgery.. He just made his body fit to match the character in Secret garden..

when i compare the two projects, it does look like he lost weight- at least on his face.
Yes, he looks definete different in SG compared to his fresh look in the world within. maybe because of the age. maybe he was demanded to look thin for his role in Come Shine Come Rain. But i like his acting very much in SG. it seems that the role of Kim Joo Won is only for him. Nobody can do better than him
I personally think that is purely due to excessive weight loss but not plastic surgery.
I would like to defend him against the 'allegation'. Here is a case study. Actually, my twin sis and I had this kind of encounter too. Before we put on braces, our faces were round but during the first month of wearing braces, we couldn't eat much and had cut down on sweet food. Therefore we had lost some weight, consequently our faces became more V shaped.
Of course different people have different mind. It's normal that this sort of accusation will come after fame.

as far as i know, hyun bin did not do any plastic surgery. he just losing his weight to fit the character. i think hyun bin's skinny face suits kim joo woon insecure and claustrophobia–fear character. but as far as i read on some websites, "hyun bin had to live on saline drips to sustain himself. He is suffering from fatigue due to have overworked himself with the tight filming schedules of Secret Garden." btw his face looks sick & sad in SG. but still he doing it very well. love u hyun bin oppa! <3
I don't think he gotten surgery. He is just aging that's all. When you loose a lot of weigh your face do tends to suck in. Especially, now that he is nearly 30, he will age and the skin will slowly changed. Not only that, he is much skinnier than he was before which makes him look the way he does. If he gains weigh, he will look amazing.

He definitely had jaw reduction surgery. You can lose the fat on your face but you can't lose part of your jaw during weight loss. Either way, he looks hot before and after.
Sad to say but I think it's surgery too. Like what Anonymous said on May 23rd, you can lose the fat on your face but not part of your jaw. If it was due to weight loss perhaps he should look something like Jang Dong Gun did in A Gentleman's Dignity?I think that is truly weight loss as his cheeks were sunken.I am quite disappointed too if he was going for the male v line. Obviously he had undergone a V shape jaw realignment. And his mole on the left side of his face near the ear is gone. I like him with his rough looks before than after plastic surgery. Too sad.
