Gourmet is so realistic. It's so realistic that sometimes it really bothers me. All characters and things that happen it all seems so real. Sung Chan is so... human. He is pretty sensitive what I really like about him but more than anything he is just so real. He is such a sad character. It was a good thing he met Jin Soo!!! Nam Sang Me has gotten lotsa better since Bad Family and Time of Dog and Wolf or then her role just suits her personality. Jin Soo and Sung Chan have good chemistry. It's just a friendship so far but I hope it will evolve into something bigger. Joo Hee's love toward Sung Chan was pretty delicate and very sweet but they wouldn't make a good match. She is too elegant, too adult and too serious.
So far there have been so may sub plots... I dunno if I'm happy about that... I was pretty mad after ep 5 because I didn't get to see Sung Chan much. Now he has lotsa screen time x) Still I feel like it's maybe too slow? Like a ticking time bomb, I swear somethings gonna happen soon but what? Will it be satisfying enough? This drama seems so similar to Lobbyist. It looks as elegant, evolves rather slowly and has similar music. I feel Choi Wan Kyu in this. No matter what even Air City looked elegant and had the same somewhat almost transparently tragic atmosphere. And in a way a very unpredictable plot like now.
I also feel like the beginning was totally wrong. I felt like it begun from the middle and it made me wonder if I started watching from ep 2 by mistake. Ok, they had 2 other opinions: 1. they start from the van-business right away or 2. They start from the beginning. Though starting from the beginning would have been pretty typical. Sung Chan a troublemaker --> decides/is forced to start cooking -->starts actually liking it --->becomes good at it --> etc etc Anything but this... I felt like all characters were so cold and distant. Only after some more episodes I started feeling the warmth. Actually Jin Soo was the first one that felt friendly and approachable. Then Sung Chan and the old man who likes young women xD
That Uhm Nam or whatever was the name of the restaurant (I always mess up the letters) I think it has been too unprofessional so far. If a cook makes so HUGE mistakes then he should be fired. NO MERCY. I am sure that to a such high level place there would be at least 100 line of new cooks trying to get in. And making so silly mistakes?

Has this actually happened to anyone? To tell the truth to me once xD

Kang Nam Gil will put a smile on your face. I think silly characters are his speciality.

He is so demanding xD Look at Ji Soo's face "I'm gonna curse you old fart!"

*GRRRR*

Wasn't she so CUTE when she was singing in the bathtub?

This scene totally cracked me up xD

Yes, the biggets clichee in Kdramas. Wolfing down food and crying. Eat, eat more and then choke to death <_<

This old man really looked like he was seriously DYING!
and now Kim Rae Won goodies:

Sun Chan's words, the moment, and car tires screeching made this moment kinda funny.

Just look at his face. That expression tells more than 100 words.

This too... I can almost feel his pain.

Sung Chan is just too CUTE singing his food songs^^

KRW sure looks good when he cooks

I just can't get enough of his face...

It's painful, isn't it?
